Mologix has just released AlarmLogix™ for PCS7 and DeltaV controllers. A multi-stage beacon that simply plugs into the USB port of any Operator Station. Run a small software utility that runs as a service to set up triggers and that's it.

Available as a desktop bottom entry beacon, allowing up to 5 elements in any conbination of coloured lens, sounder or even SMS text module.
Giving the ability to have multiple alarm outputs on each local operator screen, means that the operator can be logged off whilst AlarmLogix™ monitors the alarm database (OPC AE V1.0 and above) and alerts the operator using a "totem pole" alarm beacon plugged into the opertor station USB port. The unit is self powered and can be programmed to trigger an any standard alarm states using a small applet. Running the application as a service means that it can actively monitor the desired alarms without the Operator Station being active, usually cause by an inactivity timeout and auto logoff procedure required by most of todays Companies. The beacon is configurable and can be any combination of colours or sounders to best suit your application. Also available is an SMS module which can send text messages to the operators if an alarm becomes active.
